The Colours of Love

Believe it or not, the vast majority of human communication is non-verbal. We are able to convey all kinds of thoughts, feelings and ideas without the use of language. From body language and facial expressions, to gestures and physical touch, we say the most when we say nothing at all.

One of the most emotive and immediate forms of communication we have is colour. Our clothes, accessories and make-up all tell stories about who we are, how we feel, and what our personalities are. Like the feathers on a peacock, colour is often used to attract attention, perhaps even with a view to finding a romantic partner. We’re not so different from the animal kingdom after all!

When it comes to expressing love, many people’s first instinct is to reach for a bold red. And while this may be the most obvious “colour of love”, there are in fact a wealth of other tints and hues we can use to convey these feelings.
